MLK Soul Concert Series

Fridays in September*

In honor of MLK50, the National Civil Rights Museum is creating a free outdoor concert series for the community to enjoy! From the sweet sounds of soul to chilled-out beats and local bands, the Museum is the place for family fun this fall. The program runs every Friday in September.

MLK Soul Concert Series is a free series of exciting outdoor concerts under the stars in beautiful downtown Memphis in the museum’s courtyard. This year's free concerts will delight music lovers of all ages with music ranging from jazz to soul, with a taste of the oldies. If music makes you feel like dancing on the lawn, all the better!

We're proud of the outstanding musicians we will showcase as well as our wide variety of music. We try to please the most critical ear with the best sound around.

  • September 1 – Tonya Dyson
  • September 8 – Courtney Little
  • September 15 – Carmen Hicks
  • September 22 – Devin Crutcher
  • September  29 – Karen Brown

The concerts also feature spoken word artists, MLK speeches, DJ Swagg on the ones and twos, and a Sip & Shop at the Main Street Museum Store.  °Refresh at one of our featured food trucks and get some museum merchandise. Stretch out on your blanket or lawn chair and enjoy the tunes. You're going to love the MLK50 Outdoor Concert Series - we know it!  Best of all, it is FREE!

* Rain contingency: the concert will move to the following Saturday weather permitting.

° No outside food allowed. Please patronize local food trucks.
