Welcome to MLK50, a project honoring and commemorating the 50th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King's death. Through this project our mission is to celebrate how far we've come and inspire change for how far we have to go.
Our theme "Where do we go from here?" seeks to honor the legacy that Dr. King left behind and push forward to inspire continued action. With thoughts on poverty, justice, quality education, and more, Dr. King's work sought to create new connections between people and bring issues to light where there was none. As part of this celebration, our goal is to continue to shine a light on the issues that affect our country today.
This site will be an ongoing project throughout the year, that will culminate with a special anniversary event on April 4, 2018, the 50th anniversary of Dr. King's death. Throughout the year we will be sharing stories and inspiration from those doing good in their community and working hard to continue Dr. King's fight.
Check out our upcoming events, a historical timeline of Dr. King's work, or share your story to connect with others who are inspiring change, and check back here for regular updates on new projects and initiatives.
