Description:

As part of the larger MLK50 commemorations happening throughout the city, Rhodes College is planning a number of special events to educate our students, alumni, and Memphis community members about the Civil Rights Movement and the legacy of Dr. King. A special panel featuring Rhodes alumni will take place on Thursday, March 29 from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. in McNeill Concert Hall, with a reception to follow.  Rhodes Remembers MLK50 will focus on the personal perspectives of our alumni of the significant incidents leading up to and immediately following Dr. King’s death.  Panelists will include:

  • Mike Cody ’58, attorney to Dr. King
  • Jocelyn Wurzburg ’62, founder of the Panel of American Women
  • Coby Smith ’68, founder of The Invaders
